In Conversation with Navneet about His Journey and Special Needs

In conversation with Navneet about his journey and special needs.

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

My name is Navneet Kulkarni. I am 17 years old. I am a day dreamer, a poet and author. Whatever I write, it’s my insight knowledge of my own imagination.

What are your hobbies and interests?

My hobbies are listed with so many interests. Like jellyfish glance in ocean, my hobbies dance in mind. I like to sing with humming, I love music, nurturing life by describing about nature in my words. Right now, my interest is showing synthesis in understanding human evolution.

How has your journey been so far?

My journey from childhood to adulthood has been from paining to gaining, from losing to winning, from goosebump to thundering, from no speaking to more communicative now with RPM (Rapid Prompting Method).

What are the challenges that you have faced in your journey?

There was so much unaddressed pain and suffering showing no ways to express. Lot of sensory overload hitting my mind with hammer, fire-like feeling in my eyes when hypersensitive. Doors of my mind unopened, full of thoughts and animation around me. So dead-like feeling inside me, being  nonverbal with no commucation without expressing my thoughts always guilted me. Giving my best in motor functioning was failing many times but my parents supported me to overcome challenges.

What has helped you in your journey?

Today, I am onscreen expressing everything - my feelings, my emotions, my intuitions and my imaginations, through this RPM, so this is more than life to me because I am communicating.

What do you think would help people with special needs in their journey?

Firstly, showing EMPATHY, NO SYMPATHY. Secondly, giving time to your child and time for  processing for your commands. Thirdly, talking with them softly and clearly. Your words should reach them more than your sound of voice. Lastly, keep in mind that your child is happy when you are happy so your happiness is connected with your child. Give positive vibes of yours to your child. Whatever you give, it REVERSE, so keep this in mind.

What message would you like to give people with special needs and their families and friends?

Love and accept your child. They are God's blessing to you. God came in your life in form of a special child because they are pure soul with spiritual signs with always love and affection for every living creature. Don't label your child with many disabilities and disorders. Every child is born with some special talents with different skills which parents should observe and support them to explore. Trust your child.
